Land use planning and other land use management programs can have a major influence on national economy, society and environment of any country all over the world. Since appearing in the world, together with other model technologies such as GPS, Remote Sensing, GIS has been applied very much in several fields, especially in the field of natural resources management. The study about land use planning is very important not only policy, but also technical application. Subsequently, this study aims to develop the land use planning support system as a tool of Vietnam land information system.Employing the GIS and database management technologies, this system performs some spatial analytical functions in order to decide the best script to carry out the planning. Not only that, its design has been also considered to ensure the maximum data transferability between its database and other existed databases as well as the information infrastructure in order to appropriate for Vietnam reality. This system impulses the application development of the GIS and information technologies in state administration on natural resources and establishes the synchronous management system on land and other natural resources, which are containing so many complex problems. Therefore, it is believed that this system will be used as the basic for decision making support system in land use planning and its concerned issues.The software, done by using MapObject library (ESRI) is the final result of this study. It is one of some modules of the land information system software in Vietnam contemporarily.
