Abstract
DigitalGlobe’s ImageConnect: Oil & Gas provides immediate online access to over 5.5 million km2 of high resolution imagery of oil and gas basins, refineries, pipelines and high interest geological areas around the world. With our 60-centimeter resolution imagery you get precise detail allowing for powerful insight in exploration, production, operations and reclamation activity. Using satellite imagery enables oil and gas companies to effectively explore remote regions and optimize their existing production capability. Imagery is being used to help determine suitable drill sites based on surface conditions, site modeling, facilities monitoring, environmental assessment and identify access corridors for roads, relay towers and pipelines. In today’s volatile environments site security is becoming more paramount and imagery is being used as the base map for defining processes and procedures in the event an incident occurs.
This presentation will highlight how our extensive coverage of high interest geological areas and oil and gas basins can be accessed through an easy-to-use plug-in for ArcGIS™, MapInfo®, Autodesk Map® 3D or Web Map Service (WMS). Retrieving images from ImageConnect: Oil & Gas alleviates exporting and manipulating data from multiple image sources.
