Abstract
Retrieving Spatial Information on Mobile Phone via GSM Platform

This paper is focusing on the proposed framework for retrieving spatial information on mobile phone in wireless environment using Global System for Communication (GSM) platform with the existing service provider that involves Short Messaging Services (SMS) and Multimedia Messaging Services (MMS). In the proposed framework, spatial tools and wireless tool are integrated with ActiveX Mobile to assent graphical and text information to be delivered to mobile phone by using SMS and MMS services. Besides that, we discuss the successful of the prototype system in sending spatial information by SMS and MMS to mobile phone user’s and also retrieving the spatial information on mobile phone as per request by the user. Finally, we assess the performance of the proposed framework by presenting experimental results in order to analyze the response and request time of the overall prototype system.
